True story: promoting cycling as a means of transport also means boosting the economy. Particularly in Europe. We are so used to the car lobby putting economic data on the table ...that we forget what it would mean, also at this level, to embrace a new paradigm of urban mobility.

Let's look closely at the Belgian example.

The net added value of cycling in Belgium alone was around 1 billion euros in 2022, generating 17,500 direct jobs.

The trend is clearly upwards and, since 2020, the cycling industry has grown twice as fast as the average Belgian economy (tourism, infrastructure, trade...).

Among the new niches identified as having great potential for growth within our industry, I would highlight cargo bikes: bicycles as a delivery tool.

The most reliable studies reveal that at least one in four urban deliveries could be better done by bicycle. However, as of today, the percentage of such deliveries in Belgium is less than 1%. Reaching that 25% would generate around 9,000 jobs and create around €231M in profit !
